We’re often told that sleep is the best medicine, but too much sleep is 'AS bad for your health as smoking and drinking alcohol': More than 9 hours a night means you're '4 TIMES more likely to die early.

Sleeping more than 9 hours puts you at a higher risk of premature death while inactive people who sleep and sit a lot are 4 times as likely to die young;
Researchers said this combination is as deadly as smoking and drinking. And older people who slept for longer than eight hours were more likely to have a stroke within 10 years.The results come from 45 And Up, Australia's largest health study

But, a new study revealed that too much sleep is hazardous to your health.
Sleeping more than nine hours a night – combined with sitting too much during the day and a lack of exercise – can be just as bad for you as smoking and drinking alcohol.
